Renewal Residency requires a high level of engagement. It's built for those who are ready to show up.
The whole cohort gathers together. You'll hear from different industry speakers and discuss curated content from books, articles, and podcasts explored in your own time.
Gather with 1–2 other residents twice a month outside of the forum to discuss content and wrestle with how it applies to your specific work and context.
Meet monthly with a guide matched to your industry. Together you'll build a personalized career development plan over the two years — someone investing directly in where you're going.
In addition to the monthly structure, Renewal Residency includes a set of curated experiences throughout the two years — each one designed to expand your vision, deepen your network, and ground your calling in something tangible.
A curated gathering at the intersection of faith and professional life. Hear from practitioners, leaders, and thinkers who are living out the integration you're pursuing — and connect with others doing the same.
Travel with your cohort to meet global leaders, experience church planting on the ground, and see how the marketplace and mission intersect beyond American borders. A perspective-altering week.
Visit a church plant in another U.S. city, meet the team, and see how professionals are embedding themselves in new communities for the sake of the gospel. Builds your vision for what's possible close to home.

Director, Renewal Residency · Summit Church
Julie Scrudato is the founding director of Renewal Residency, bringing years of experience in leadership development to the program. She is passionate about equipping the next generation of professionals to integrate their faith with their daily work in meaningful, lasting ways. Julie is based in Raleigh-Durham and is deeply rooted in the Summit Church community.
Renewal Residency gave me language for something I'd always felt but couldn't name. I went from seeing my job as a distraction from "real ministry" to understanding it as the very place God had called me. I'm a better professional, a better leader, and honestly, a better person because of this program.
I'd read the books and listened to the podcasts, but nothing compared to having a guide in my corner who actually works in healthcare like I do. The conversations we had were unlike anything I'd experienced in a church setting — practical, honest, and deeply rooted in faith. I can't recommend it enough.
We want to make sure this is the right fit before you apply. If you don't see your question here, reach out to Julie directly at jscrudato@summitchurch.com.
Currently, yes — Renewal Residency is a program of Summit Church and membership is required to participate. We're deeply committed to this being rooted in a local church community, not just a standalone program. That said, we hope to expand access in the future, so if you're not yet a member but are interested, reach out and let's talk.
The total program fee is $5,000 — a one-time investment for the full two years. This covers travel expenses for vision trips, forum speakers, curated materials and content, experiential programming, and the various costs that make the residency what it is. If cost is a barrier, reach out — we want to have that conversation.
Yes — the program is designed for working professionals. The monthly commitment is 5–10 hours and all core activities are scheduled with full-time work in mind. The international and domestic trips will require some PTO.
All of them. We've had residents from business, healthcare, education, tech, law, finance, entrepreneurship, and more. Your guide will be matched from your specific industry, so the mentorship is always directly relevant to your work.
The next cohort begins in Fall 2026. Applications close May 31, 2026. After submitting your application, you'll be invited to an interest meeting and a brief interview before a final decision is made.
Cohorts are kept intentionally small — around 15–20 people — to maintain a high-quality experience and genuine community. We limit enrollment to ensure every resident gets meaningful attention from their guide and real relationships within the cohort.
You become part of the Renewal alumni network — a growing global community of professionals who share your conviction that work and faith belong together. Through the international and domestic trips, you'll have built relationships with leaders and church planters around the world. That network doesn't end at graduation; it's one of the most lasting things you take with you.
The next cohort begins Fall 2026. Spots are limited — take the first step now and we'll invite you to an upcoming interest meeting.
